The Enforcer.  This is the first book in the NHL Scorpions series by Nikki Worrell.  I read book 3, Cage’s Misconduct, already & LOVED it.  (You can read my review here.)  This is Lacey & Jody’s story.  Jody’s just been traded to the San Diego Scorpions & he’s getting to know the organization, including the team psychologist, Zoe.  Zoe has just convinced her best friend, Lacey, to make the cross country move to San Diego from Maine.

Jody & Lacey’s meeting is hysterical.  The blossoming love, the back & forth, between the two of them is just about the sweetest thing ever.  The texts, oh man.  Hot, with some goofy thrown in.  It’s a HOT story with your omg moments.  You have the sweetness of new love, the anger from people who won’t take no for an answer, the dynamics of a large team/family that plays a big part on the story.   Like in Cage’s Misconduct, hockey plays a large part in the book, but it’s not all the book is about.  If you’re not familiar with the game, you can still read the book & it’ll make sense.  This is a hot story with a lot of funny moments.  I honestly laughed out loud so many times.  I don’t want to give anything away, but this story is one of my favorites.  It’s got it’s hot moments, your are you kidding!? moments, and best of all the awww moments that leave you sighing from the sweetness.  The only drawback to this book is that it’s not long enough!  You’re left wanting more.  And if book 2 in the series is anything like book 3, you’ll get a little more of Jody & Lacey’s story as well s Zoe & Vlad.  I can NOT wait to start that one!  You can pick up your copy of The Enforcer here.
